1p mobile - short verification codes not coming in
Hi.
I have just switched to 1p Mobile and I'm very happy on their unlimited mobile data plan as signal is dire where I live with any other providers, except any short verification codes (4-6 digits) won't come to my phone.
I have a Samsung S23 and it's a dual SIM. My Smarty SIM is still working until my PAC code goes over to 1p Mobile this week.
I just needed a verification code to be sent to me so I could use a website, and after 2 requests, I switched off the 1p Mobile e-sim, and switched Smarty back on. I then made another code request, and that came in immediately.
This isn't a one off, it happened two days ago too.
Any suggestions on for possible phone settings please? Though I guess the issue is with 1p Mobile.
It's a bit of a concern as one site where I must be verified to continue usage, doesn't give an option of a code being emailed to me either 😬
Thanks!

Assuming these codes are just text messages, are you able to receive "ordinary" SMS on the 1p SIM?
This bit is advice from the 1p online help may be relevant
Why am I having problems sending and receiving text messages?
Text messaging (SMS) is available to all 1pMobile customers and the service is automatically enabled as soon as you join. However, sometimes it may be necessary to update the message centre number stored in your handset. For instance, when you transfer your telephone number to 1pMobile from another network.
In this case, you must ensure that your message centre number is listed as +447958879879. This will enable you to access our network and SMS platform to send and receive text messages, both in the UK and abroad. Please refer to your mobile phone instruction manual on how to update your message centre number.

If you are asking for a code from a bank/website etc when using 1p data then that code will go to your old Smarty number unless you have re-registered with the 1p mobile number an all your stored sites.
If you want a code to the 1p SIM you'll have to enter the number on that SIM when requesting a code.
Once you use the PAC code and your number is ported to 1p, all calls and SMS will arrive in the right place.
Edit : You are currently running two phone numbers, one for each SIM.0 -
I am with 1p and have had 6 digit codes by text from the likes of PayPal, no issue at all.

Likewise, Nectar and the NHS app in my case, code requests coming through to my registered number on 1p without issue.

Could it conceivably be anything to do with it being an Esim? 1p don't currently seem to do them but I got the impression they were doing them a few weeks ago, but not now it would seem

Hi. Problems were to do with my switch underway to them. I forgot to come back to the thread to update.
All is fine now.
I do have a new esim with them, so you should be able to set that up. It was quite painless to do and activates instantly.

This link shows info on their esims. I just grabbed it off their site 👍

That's interesting because I put the word esim into their help system and it told me they don't do them!

They've probably not updated their help page info back from when they didn't do them.
Esims are a good way to go, and you can still add a SIM lock to them.
