Water bills
Hello All
I have been living in the 3 bedrooms house for almost 18 years. From the beginning I have been paying for water bills based on RV(rateable value) calculation done by Thames water. A few weeks ago I have been told that I could request a water meter from them. I have done a request and they sent a person to the property. Unfortunately he was not able to install a water meter but instead of that my water bill got reduced almost by £50 a month due to being moved to the different tariff. After it I have realized that I have been overcharged for water for almost 18 years. Could you tell me please if there is anything I might do to get a refund from Thames water company.
Thank you
Michael

You will have been moved to an assessed charge.
You are not entitled to a refund as it is down to the resident to request a meter and either pay based on usage from the meter or on an assessed charge. The way it is set up means you were not overcharged, you just never chose to move to a water meter which would have meant you paid for what you used.

Thank you for clarifying this.
