Co-Op Switch - Have I done the right thing?

Or just transfer it manually from the current account, takes seconds.

So the Standing Order facility is completely pointless in your view, because for any recurring payments you can "just transfer it manually" every time?

I transfer to the Co-op RS every month from a current account with another bank. I prefer to do it manually but it could be an SO.

Yes, I did consider that, but since I've got to punt £1000 into the Co-op every month anyway (at least for the first few months) I thought I may as well fund the RS out of that.

I do, this RS and 30 others - but that's my preference. Well understand that others may not have a spare hour or so once a month to nurse their payments into place and for them SOs are useful. I prefer the level of control this gives me to vary amounts (or not fund at all) as circumstances dictate.
Any automated recurring payments I have are DDs, and are only there because the supplier insists on it and/or it earns me cashback.

I just tried that on mine. If you go down the screen and enter the payment date and then go back up and enter the amount then it works.
It reinforces my impression that they are a creaking dinosaur if they can't implement something as simple as that properly.

Fair enough. I prefer to have as much as possible automated. Not so much because I don't have time to baby all the payments, but more so I don't need to remember everything, and don't need to worry if I'm unable to get online for any reason. Different strokes.

Doesn't seem to work for me. I left the Amount field blank, went down the page and set everything else up, first payment date 1st April, recurring monthly etc. etc. then scrolled back to the top and typed in the amount, and it still said "not enough money…" and wouldn't proceed.
I'm using the Web site, not the app, if that makes any difference.
Edit: The App doesn't seem to have an option to set up a Standing Order. On the Web, I tried entering a lower amount just so it would let me submit the form, then went back and changed the amount and it still wouldn't let me do it. I finally gave up and deposited enough money to take my balance over £250, set up the SO, then withdrew the money again. Ridiculousness.

It was the app I tried it on. I've only got the current account for the switching bonus, the app is far too bad for me to consider using them for a current account.

The app has been down most of the day today, not for the first time since I joined. While it isn't a deal breaker - it is fairly annoying. I sent a payment there and wanted to check that it had arrived.
