Another Evri mess. What to do?

I wasn't aware you could use a parcelshop as an address. I don't have a fixed address for work as I'm in and out of customer's houses. And there was no indication this was being shipped by Evri as the US seller used DHL.

Just had a notification that it's being shipped back to the US. Absolutely ridiculous. Just leave it in the depot if you can't be bothered to take it to a post office and I''l go and get it!

I've honestly never had this situation before. The nearest was having controlled drugs delivered BY DPD. They would be returned to sender if they couldn't be delivered. But I was given a very specific time-slot when they would be delivered and you could see how close the driver was online so it was easy to just drive home and wait.

What usually happens is they buzz another flat, leave the package on my doormat and take a photo. Or it get left at a shop or post office nearby.

I'll be checking which courier they use every time I buy something online in future.

Could you use a family member or friend's address?

Personally I wouldn't suggest using a parcel locker as your address, I'm guessing the driver would get quite a fright if they knocked the door and someone opened it....

If you live in a block of flats - Evri's standard routine is to dump your package at the bottom floor…actually deliver it to your door-please don't be silly.

Happened to me (twice) and no doubt many others and it was stolen…Evri are a disgrace

I live in sheltered housing. There is a big entrance and 33 flats. Packets and parcels were just dumped into the entrance. We had a new Court manager recently and she put up a big sign saying all post must be delivered to the individual flats, not left in the entrance.

Obviously this applies to all couriers and Royal Mail. Fingers crossed it’s working well 😺
