Sky Broadband Price Rise Notification
Hello,
I have not received an email telling me about the price increase. Should I have got this by now?
Thanks for your help

Have you checked your estimated future bills to see if the price increase has been added and if so what date does it start?

mine turned up yesterday.

Was it an email headed with price rises in the subject matter or was it like a Sky advert saying how good they are and at the bottom of the page a little bit about your upcoming price rises?

I got the latter one, very sneaky.

Subject was “Information about your subscription”.

Thanks for the advice.
Guess what ?, the price rise email turned up very shortly after I posted this question.

I'm still waiting on mine. Increase is set for April 27. Only just joined end of Jan and still a few months away from my cashback and gift card to be paid out so not really worth leaving.

Can anyone explain how you go about switching to another provider? Normally when I switch I go to the MSE website, select the deal I want and they take care of everything from that point. The Sky email said:
"We hope you’ll continue to enjoy our services, but if you’re unhappy with these changes, you can visit sky.com/changes or call us on 0344 824 4450 to discuss or cancel your subscription. If you’re within your minimum contract period, call us within 30 days of getting this email to avoid early termination charges. Unless you tell us otherwise, your Sky subscription will continue as normal."
To me that reads that I must get in touch with Sky prior to signing up with another provider eg Vodafone. But is this actually required? I am within the minimum contract period so I have 30 days to leave from getting the email. If I don't contact Sky and just sign up with a new provider as normal, will I risk being hit with the early termination charges?
Hopefully, someone can explain as I always hear Martin saying you can leave within 30 days but never the actual practicalities of what is required to do so.

I always phone them to say I am leaving because of the price rise. Then go through the usual switch process to another provider.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
Thanks for the reply, on further reading it looks like it is a requirement to inform them, from the Sky website:
"If you want to cancel your subscription
We’re sorry you’re thinking of leaving us.
If you’re not happy with these changes, call us on 0344 824 4450* to find out more about changing or cancelling your Sky subscription. You can also give notice to cancel or change your subscription by messaging on sky.com, email or letter.
Good to know: if you give notice over the phone or by messaging for Sky TV or Sky Broadband & Talk, we’ll process your cancellation immediately. If you give your notice via online form, letter or email for Sky TV, Sky Glass / Sky Stream or Sky Broadband & Talk, or by messaging for Sky Glass / Sky Stream, we'll need to speak to you to verify your account. Don't worry, your notice period will start from the date we receive your letter or email."
