    Unfortunately we were told that Doha fights are only for passengers who are not transferring to onward flights (I guess they don’t want unnecessary travellers stuck at their airport in the event of further incidents.

    Well, that probably makes a lot of sense and also brings matters into line with the FCDO "essential travel only". If it is "essential" that you are in Doha, you can travel there. If your end destination is elsewhere, even if the trip is "essential", it is not "essential" to interchange in the Middle East.

    Now that the airline are not proceeding with your flight as booked, what alternative are they offering?
