Complex Law PCP

Complex Law said i signed up their PCP claims process. I recall only enquiring snd ive asked for evidence of a contract which they have not sent. I just cancelled their supposed involvement and again asked for written evidence of their contract In response they sent me a cancellation payment notification of £648 which i will obviously not pay. Please suggest way forward. It is to me a scam. Nobody needs these people in these PCP cases as it will be resolved by finance company reimbursements.

You've very probably clicked on a box to accept their Ts and Cs when enquiring and then failed to cancel within the specified cooling off period.

It is not a scam if you've done the above.

They could well chase you for the cancellation fee,

In your shoes, I would continue to insist in writing that they provide:

    • A copy of the signed contract or clear evidence of you agreeing online (screenshots of the journey, IP/time stamp, and the specific wording of the declaration you supposedly agreed to).
    • A copy of their terms, including the clause that creates the £648 cancellation fee and the cooling‑off wording.

If they cannot show that you clearly agreed to those terms, that massively weakens any attempt to enforce a cancellation fee.

    • Raise a formal complaint with the firm, making clear you only made an enquiry, you dispute any contract, you consider the demand unfair, and you expect them to cease collection activity while the complaint is ongoing.
    • If you’re not satisfied with their final response, escalate to the Financial Ombudsman Service (if they are FCA‑authorised as a claims management company) or to the Legal Ombudsman/SRA if they are regulated as solicitors
    • Keep all communication in writing, and do not pay anything unless and until they show clear evidence of a binding agreement including that cancellation term.

The FCA and SRA have recently warned about these sign‑up practices.
