we don’t service ours- for the same reasons you mention. £150 to £250 (seems to be going rate- probably closer to top end for us down south) for someone to clean a couple of filters, and clear any debris from the outside unit. I’d rather put the money aside for a repair/replacement as and when needed.

This is interesting. We use the building itself intermittently, and only need the heating in serious winter and the cooling in serious summer (the building is well insulated). We haven't had it serviced as yet and it was installed in October 2022. Our supplier would charge £240 for a service (9% of installation cost). Maybe I should read the manual and if it is as simple as benson says, do it myself, at least to start off with.
