Which countries does a flight go over

Please can anyone help me?

I looked at this website

https://www.flightconnections.com/

To see which countries a flight passes over - for obvious reasons I want to avoid booking flights to Asia which pass over the middle east.

However I'm not convinced it is accurate as it shows flights passing over Ukraine which I doubt is true.

Any ideas?

Where do you want to fly from and what is your destination?

Pick an airline and see where they go on Flightradar 24 in real time.

If you pick a Chinese airline they will likely fly over Russia, as @flaneurs_lobster you can follow the Pet Shop Boys and "Go West".

Just about everyone else will fly over parts of the middle east.

Try picking on a specific flight and use FlightRadar24 to track its precise route realtime.

Current FlightRadar24 pic below - direct flights between Europe and Asia are mostly going over Georgia / Azerbaijan at the moment, the only flights over the Gulf states appear to be those actually going to/from their airports.

To totally avoid the Middle East you would probably need to fly with a Chinese carrier that will take a route over Russia. For example China Southern fly direct to Guangzhou, from which you can connect to a flight direct to Kota Kinabalu.

Most other carriers will take a much more southerly route.

You should not be worrying too much the airine and its staff will ant to keep themselves safe so are unlikely to enter any risky airspace

I wasn't really worried about danger just flights being cancelled. A friend was going to Borneo last week and because of the war isn't.

I doubt any flights which weren't scheduled to stop in the Gulf airports are going to be seriously affected - but possibly some longer flight times because they're being diverted from optimal routes.
