Hildebrand Glow Display and CAD

Identical. 😉
Glow/Bright/Hildebrand customer support has a decent enough rep… as does Octopus if you can get to the right people.
Have you made a formal Complaint to Octopus about this?
That is often needed to nudge some real effort and action from energy suppliers!0 -
Mine is working but it has a very big LED that keeps lighting up, it goes when turning screen off but will come back on later, might tape over it.
I do prefer the mini, its far smaller and compact. But dont want to be locked to Octopus in the future for this functionality so got one of these.

I also have Hildebrand CAD but not the IHD - so I got live data in my bright app that worked for me great during 12 months I was with Tomato Energy . Word of warning Octopus managed to break the Hildebrand data feed when trying to re-commission my Octopus mini, but after Octopus got their side working - Hildebrand support were straight on it and cleared up their mess.

You mean the wired CAD? They've stopped producing that now, I think. Octopus managed to break my smart metering altogether whilst trying to get their IHD working, but it recovered after a power cut. Hildebrand got their Glow CAD working before Octopus even realised the system was accessible again.

The CAD I have got connects by wireless just like the mini, although it physically much bigger than the Octopus device.

Probably upset if you have 2.4ghz and 5ghz WiFi using same SSID. If you can set up a separate network with just 2.4ghz it might fix it.

It would be a weird wi-fi device if it get upset in such circumstances, especially since the problem as stated is with the Zigbee connection on a completely different frequency.

Ah ok I misread

It's not a *completely different frequency", ZigBee uses the 2.4ghz frequency. However the issue wouldn't be ZigBee, it would be trying to connect the WiFi element of the CAD or home mini to a router that uses the same SSID for both 2.4ghz and 5ghz, although I've never had to do anything special with the Octopus home mini and a dual band sky router.
