Afternoon all just swaping from nowtv broadband to new provider started filling in the online form after deciding who I was moving to got to the question account number required loged on to the account could not find anywhere checked all emails even bank details no sign of account number found providers contact number phoned we are closed till 8am OK no problem 805am phoned we don't open till 8am OK so over the next 20 minutes kept trying finally 830 get through to them did all the checks what can we help you with im looking for my account number check your emails or log on I'm logged on how do I find it click payments no number OK I will have to hand you over to my colleague hold the line OK next disconnected phoned back go through all the rigmarole again same answers same outcome disconnected while trying to phone them again they phoned me on different number same story same outcome just about to phone again they phoned me on same number different person explained what had happened apologies given problem with their telephone lines they could hear us but we apparently couldn't hear them ,same routine account checks explained I'm looking for my account number same instructions same result .

Can you transfer me to a British call centre please this time transfer worked same checks how can we help explained I'm after my account number are you thinking of leaving no I'm not thinking I am after the last hr of being messed about I'm definitely leaving can you just tell me my account number please it should be on your account login or emails explained it wasn't can you just tell me the number I'm afraid I will have to transfer you no please cant you just email the info I will check your account apparently the only time they give you your account number is on the original sign up email anyway she sent it. Can we not change your mind NO YOU can not so if your dealing with Now broadband they are transferring over to Sky broadband WHAT A SHAMBLES

Other than the presentation, if you're:

swaping from nowtv broadband to new provider

… you might not need to tell Now Broadband anything. Under one-touch switching, your new supplier should take care of notifying Now of your switch date.

As stated , you don’t need to contact your old provider if switching using OTS , and there is no reason why your Now account number is required by the new ISP , basically that information has nothing to do with the company you are joining , all they need is your name and address , that’s all they need to match your name and address to an existing service provider, they shouldn’t ask for your account number it isn’t part of the customer matching process .

Are you joining a new company on the same network, so Openreach based provider to another Openreach provider or switching networks as well as ISP ?
