How late can we book a Ryanair flight?

We were going to book Ryanair flights (*) to Paphos, Cyprus, where we have a 'holiday home' last week but waited. (* ten days at the end of April/beginning of May)

Now WW3 is underway we would still like to go but are waiting for the dust to hopefully settle.

If we wanted to fly on a Sunday, how long before can we leave it before RY close the booking window?

I booked a Ryanair flight 3 hours before departure, so it's at least that late. Online checking closes 2 hours prior, so that's probably the limit.

Ive just done a search for the Manchester-Dublin route as of 0630 GMT

The app says you can only book onto the 0740 and 0840 departures at the airport.

You can, however, book onto the 0915 one to Brussels.

So maybe 2.5 hours is the cutoff.

Most airlines with an airport sales presence will let you buy a seat in person on any flight that hasn't yet closed for boarding (plus a bit).

Not possible on flights that need pre-travel visa/travel document verification like travel to USA or Israel.

Used to be a time when you could turn up and pay for your LON-EDI/GLA flight on board the plane.

I've booked same day several hours before, when on a somewhat flexible multi-desintation trip. OF course depending on what happens, it might be super expensive or sold out if people are desperate to re-patriate, copmlete trips planned earlier, if airplanes / staff are stood down and harder to restart, etc.

However at this stage I agree I'd be waiting to see, as insurance etc may not cover cancellation if you book now knowing there's likely to be issues.
