New/existing customers
I thought that offering new customers cheaper deals than existing customers was outlawed?
I've just texted PAC to 65075 and almost immediately got a call from EE loyalty dept. I'm out of contract on the 15th, but seemingly they've got better prices, but for new customers.
BT have got a £175 reward card, but because i'm already with a BT group company, I'll not get it.
BUT…….with Plusnet, cheaper than the rest and a BT company, I'll still qualify for their £50 reward card.
Confused??

It's not outlawed.

You thought wrong…. for Home and Motor insurance there are rules that renewing customers can't be offered worse prices than a new customer would be but even then it depends on exactly which product and also which channel you buy from.
There were rules introduced by OfCom about people coming out of contract and then being taken advantage of but this is in the form of communications about coming out of contract and what better offers they may be eligible for as an existing customer and not anything about harmonising new and existing customer offers.
