    Done 40 transactions just to be safe, will probably do a few more over the next few months but for now will go back to using my main bank account. I noticed Apple Pay was tagged differently to card which says 'purchase' so I made sure I did all my shopping by using contactless or the physical card. I note that I did have a Santander account back in 2022 but I did get a different Santander OLA reference so fingers crossed I'll be okay.
    Why do you feel the need to make 40 transactions to be safe? The T&C's clearly state you only need to make 30.
    Because some of the transactions were showing as Apple Pay instead of Purchase and I have received a few refunds on some transactions, so wanted to be safe. I know the T&Cs clearly state that I only need to make 30 transactions, but it doesn't mention anything about Apple Pay.

    Well made headway yesterday with my 30 purchases. I went into Tesco and purchased 14 single carrots and each had attached to them their own barcode with price.  Went to the self service tills and just put them through as separate transactions.  Also 2 purchases from B and M.

    Only 14 to go and still have 5 weeks left.

    Why not just do normal shopping or small shops like coffees / lunch breaks etc buying 14 individual carrots is taking the p

    Well done Mable, I had to smile visualising these 14 carrots all with there own bar codes. I always feel a bit uncomfortable doing stuff like this. What I hate at Tesco’s is every time I put a single item through the scanner it shouts out, ‘Tesco card excepted’ when this happens twenty times I glance over my shoulder thinking I’m being looked at. What we do to make a few bob.

    I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
    The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
    I listen all night for your step on the stair.

    Going to be 30 x 50p debit card payments to Octopus (via app) for me. Challenge complete 15 mins later

    Apologies this may have already been answered. Do these "count" as I've seen other posts that some online payments are classed differently by the bank? I'm happy to antagonise everybody in my local Tesco going the carrot route, but if Octopus payments do indeed count I'd much prefer this.

    To date no one has been paid out yet so no one really knows what works and what does not. Like others, I have gone down the road of making debit card payments to other savings accounts and the like for other bonuses with other banks and it's worked but no one can say 100% it will work with Santander.
