Are switch prices honoured?

I switched Saturday from octopus to fuse. (Are fuse any good by the way?) Said monthly payment would be £94 ( octopus would of been £96 but that's including the April drop) both 12 month fixes. The fuse amount is before the April drop.

Anyway it should go live tomorrow but just noticed the price has gone up to £97 now.

so just wondering if it's the price I switched at on Saturday that I will get? (Switched on cheap energy club)

Never rely on just the £ figure for any comparison.

But it is normal for deals to be honoured on the day you sign them. But did you check the price once linked through onto the suppliers site ?

Never used the Cheap energy club - but as a general rule - check not trust the headline info on a comparison site. ( I would say never trust - for things like car or house insurance)

Any chance on Fuse difference quote was pre 5% VAT - the other after (the £3 seems a bit on the low side).

And if a fix - its only the rates that are fixed - not the usage.

And its not therefore the monthy DD amount that is fixed - use more pay more.

Where - units, unit rates or SC is the £3 change coming from ?

Fixed is the unit price & Standing Charge, not monthly payments. Those should be honoured, not monthly payments.

    Let's Be Careful Out There

If that's your direct debit it's not a price, it's an estimate of how much you are going to use in the future, so could change at any time.

Deepest Kent. 4.6kW Growatt inverter, solar i boost+ 5.9kW Solar Edge

    ok so far...

Fuse are variable direct debit, I believe, so it will be an estimate for comparison purposes, you will just pay for the energy you use but the unit rate and s/c should be honoured, the former going down in April but going down less with Fuse because they don't pay some of the Eco stuff which has been removed. Octopus are already publishing the new rates from April if you are due to renew soon

You'll get the unit rates and standing charges of the product, that's all.

The monthly DD is just an initial guestimate of 1/12 of the annual charges based on historic usage.

The DD can be varied up or down as the supplier thinks fit, it is not the price for an all-you-can-eat energy buffet.

I get the direct debit thing but I'm just going off what cheap energy club is showing. It's showing £94 so I take it the unit price must be a bit less than octopus who I'm with.

    Just checked .

    Fuse

    Gas 5.9kwh sc 24.8 elec 21.8kwh sc 46.8

    Octopus

    Gas 5.4kwh sc 33.4 elec 25.3kwh sc 48.8

Multiple the figures out by the annual use figures + 365x standing charges - you used to get the respective quotes then / 12.

See if they agree for fuse on the new are closer to £94 or £97 per month.

There is no real shortcut to tell whats gone on between the two quotes

The bottom line is that it doesn't really matter what the monthly direct debit is, as you will pay for what you use and ultimately - probably when you leave them and move on to another supplier - you will have any excess refunded. I appreciate that budgeting is an issue for many customers but you seem to be worrying about a pound or two per month. Whatever the exact figure of your direct debit, it will make no difference to what you ultimately pay.

Fuse only does monthly variable DD so the £97 figure is irrelevent. They'll take the amount for the cost of energy used each month.
