Thanks everyone. I eventually used SJL as advised by BIBA and now have an unoccupied buildings insurance.

I’ve done it but had to have long conversations with the insurer before they offered a £1,800 p.a. insurance as if it were a holiday cottage, terms are that it must have had someone in it at least one night in every 30. They also have a deal that the day a sale deal is done, I get a refund for all the outstanding days of the Insured period. Similar value to yours so a £1,000,000 rebuild cost although it’s detached so no assumption that if it exploded I‘d have neighbouring rebuilds to consider. I have LPA which once accepted by them meant that the insurance is in my name as POA for her.
