EE haggling
Hi all,
Has anyone had much success or have any tips for haggling a sim only deal with EE?
I've been with them since One2One in the 90s but know they're not the most competitive out there. My current deal is 30GB data for just under £12 but is going up again this month. Also 100mbps speed cap.
1p mobile is an attractive option staying on EE with 50gb 30 day contract for £10 a month.
It states the best deals are online and waited until March and it offers 50GB on 24 months (100mbps) for £9 a month going to £11.50 March 2027.
Is it still worth calling to negotiate or would requesting my PAC code kick in retention deals?
I know there are a lot cheaper offers out there but I have had good service otherwise. I also have no intention of taking up their home broadband deals too to get a better deal.

I didn't even bother speaking to them when I got the increase email I thought that must be a joke £2.50 a month extra on a SIM only
deal that was around £6.50 currently.
We had a few contracts with EE in the household and we switched them all to Lebara. Not heavy mobile data users so the 5GB deal
advertised on here for £1.60 for 6 months and then £4.90 suited us. Unlimited Mins/txts and a rolling 30 day contract so easy to leave
if it did not suit us.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...1 -
Have just changed mine from Vodafone PAYG to Lebara monthly, bit more data with but also cheaper, £2.30pm for first 3 months, £6.90pm thereafter, will also get a £25 voucher. Was previously paying £10pm with Vodafone

£10 for 1p mobile sounds expensive.
I would wait until we are in April, and then request you PAC code from EE, and see if they will do you a deal.
Don't trust EE. If you are asked to read a new contract with EE (in real time), be very careful with prices

if you want to stay on the EE signal have a look at mozillion. They have some great deals and no speed caps. Some of their pay as you go sim plans for 24 months upfront payments work out really cheap. For example 24 months 30 gb data with a roaming allowance is £114 - works out £4.75 per month

Great, thanks. The best deal I'm being offered still so far is £11 a month for 60GB 100mbps data rising to £13.50 in March 2027 on 24 month contract. Will try the pac code route.

After much phoning and receiving several different offers from different people, last week, I was offered and accepted £8 a month over 24 months, 30gb upgraded to 50gb, then upgraded to 80gb because I'm with them for BB. Even with the 2027 price increase I'lI still be paying less than I have been.

The networks (EE included) try to get customers on 24 month deals, which is in their interests to know you are committed to paying their wages for 2 years. I would text PAC to 65075, you will receive your PAC by text in a minute or so. Details:

I am with 1p Mobile on a 30 day basis, no speed caps, EU and Channel Is/I of Man roaming, £8/month for 10 GB data, or £10 for 50 GB. We use the roaming a lot, you can use up to 14 GB when roaming and being a 30 day arrangement I can change it or switch networks without incurring charges to leave.

Thanks, I was going to give them a try at comparing to 1p mobile and Mozillion tomorrow. How much does it go up in March next year? I'm aiming at 50GB or 60GB if I can

I do like the 30 day contract I must admit. My last one with EE was only 12 months compared to their usual 24 months.
I'd be interested to know what kind of speeds you get with 1p mobile on speed tests.

On 1p with 2 bars signal, 8:50 pm Sunday evening, I’m getting 115 Mb/s download and 8 Mb/s up. That is with 5G and an iPhone 13.
Here the local EE “5G” mast is a 5G radio on a 4G back end, not true 5G at all, it just pretends to be 5G, as many masts in the UK do.
