Quite merited to feel tired and grumpy after that list @Rhyddid2026!

I have not been pushing forward on things what with work and chronic pain condition but am keeping up to date with build admin and eating random bits and bobs, and the most important task, at least reallocating things in an organised fashion on the expanding to-do list 😁

I have the chimney sweep coming in the morning. He likes to come early so I need to be up dressed and functioning by 7:30. I have to clean out the fire tonight (I tend to chuck random bits of paper in there when I CBA to go the the kitchen bin) and give it a hoover. I'm counting chimney sweep as an OAT, because although I am not sweeping it myself it's still effort to arrange and prepare for. So that's tomorrow's OAT.

I've decluttered the last half a pack of oreos for tea, I'm so dedicated!

I'm trying to fix the DW. I finally got the builders to swap the tempermental integrated one that came with the house for my freestanding one that had been in the garage for 3 years. We had to take the top panel off to get it in, but it worked FOR ONE CYCLE and then had the same fault the old one was having. So today I got the gardener/handyman to remove all the ubends and clean out the undersink drainage (no fall on anything, all pipes are either vertical or horizontal. Still didn't work. Took the pump cover off to check for obstructions in the pump/impeller - bit grubby, but nothing significant (I'm trying to do a cleaning cycle as it's been stored for so long!).

Decided to ignore it and dig out the strawberry bed (vast, overcrowded and full of nettle roots). Managed about 1/3 as was interrupted by a friend calling - hopefully some of the strawberry plants will survive and I'll get the rest done and have it ready to replant tomorrow).

Then got some cardboard out of the shed and stuck it under the DW to pull it out. Took the insides apart and put a spray on the top rack connector. Tipped it backwards to 45 degrees in case there was water in the base which had triggered the aquastop. Left it out of the slot… put on a short cycle. And it worked. Noisily (has no top and is out on the kitchen floor). So when it has finished I'll put it part way back, but want to test it a. with the top rack and spray arm back in and b. running a cleaning cycle before I stick it back in the hole. If it only works pulled out it'll be VERY annoying. But I can't buy a new one until I redo the kitchen.

@greenbee do you have a level? There’s definitely something going on with levels and water not draining isn’t there … 🕵️ I think I’d be checking the floor where both the DWs sit when installed and then the DWs when they are installed (I appreciate that would mean removing worktop or some such - but this issue is so annoying it might be worth the effort …?).
