Vodafone Broadband Price Differs on Their Website Compared to This Site and Other Comparison Tools
It’s broadband renewal time again.
Using the comparison tool on this site – as well as a few other reputable ones – Vodafone’s 150 Mb package looks ideal for me. It’s in my price range and includes a voucher, which makes it even more appealing.
Across all these comparison sites, the deal is shown as a two‑year contract at £23 per month, rising by £2.50 from 1 April 2027.
Great, or so I thought.
Once you enter your postcode and get redirected to Vodafone’s own website, the price suddenly increases: £2 more per month from the start, and £2.50 more from 1 April next year. It’s not a huge amount, but it’s still more than advertised – and it adds up over a two‑year contract.
At first, I assumed it was a glitch or that Vodafone’s website hadn’t been updated. So I contacted Vodafone – after battling through their AI chatbot – I eventually reached a real person.
They told me they have no control over third‑party websites, and that the only price that matters is the one shown on Vodafone’s own site.
Sorry, what? Does that mean price comparison websites are basically pointless, and the prices they show might not be the prices you actually pay?
I explained that this was misleading, especially since I’d checked three different comparison sites and they all showed the same lower price.
They repeated that they can’t control third‑party listings, even though Vodafone must surely provide those sites with the pricing information in the first place.
The only thing they offered was a £2 monthly discount if I also had a Vodafone mobile plan.
So what do you think? Are Vodafone technically correct, or is this a pretty misleading way to advertise a service that ends up costing more than the price shown on comparison sites?

The comparison sites (for both broadband and mobile contracts) can be annoying and inconsistent at this time of year, the problem is the April price increases and whether or not the prices quoted include/exclude/ignore any increase in the next 5 weeks.
Can be far from obvious, unless a site explicitly says that there is no increase to be applied until 2027 I would not assume otherwise.
EDIT : Just checked mobiles.co.uk Vodafone SIM deals (my contract's up this month), a week ago their quoted prices showed an increase (£1.80, ~20%) on 1 April, there is now a statement saying no increase for next 12 months.

Do an online chat with Vodafone again - I renewed my full fibre Broadband for another 2 year contract and although the web page renewal options said one price, when I did an online chat for the same speeds I got it cheaper than what I was currently paying, and cheaper than what the web page was offering on the renewal page (the price still goes up each April). I didnt take the mobile phone contract either, purely full fibre broadband
Bear in mind that you wouldnt get any promotional gift cards etc if you're moving to Vodafone in the first place if going via the chat, but over the 2 year contract that may still work out a cheaper option despite not getting the £100 or whatever gift card incentive in the first place.
