Remortage frustration

That's what's annoying. I have plenty of better things to be at than unnecessarily repeating tasks that have already been completed. What do they need the same forms to be signed for? They are literally the same forms with my same signature.
How is that not stupid? Are they making paper planes?

The thing is, you can complain about it as many time as you like but the fact is they hold the keys to the castle, its very frustrating filling out multiple different paperwork's but like everyone else, unless you do what they want, you dont get the deal.
Id advise just getting through it and posting it and then forgetting all about it.0 -
Just mentioning again why brokers use the "own solicitor" and cashback option rather than the usually abysmal warehouse offerings of the corporates used by lenders.
Hopefully, future readers will take this on board.

It absolutely baffles me that you want the lender to hand over tens/hundreds of thousands of pounds for YOUR benefit, but you have your knickers in a twist about signing some paperwork and getting a witness to sign.
When we bought our house (and subsequent remortgages) we happily complied with everything that was asked of us…yes, it would have been better to be told 'here's a list of all the documents we need from you' rather than drip fed, but we just got on and did whatever we needed to do to get the mortgage approved and paid out.

It's not just that, it's being asked to do the EXACT same thing that has already been done. So you just shut up and accept there are some really stupid things that may be a part of this? If they send me the same forms to sign a third time, we just shrug and say "it is what it is"?
They need to be made aware how stupid some of these processes are. Like, they are literally creating more work for themselves, not just the customer, as well as, of course, wasting paper for no reason.
Surely someone in the chain has enough of a brain that could figure out a better way or at least cut down on the nonsense?
Seems to me tho, that everyone is happy to keep doing the same stupid things over and over.

Life is full of bureaucracy, especially where money or property is involved - it's best to just sign the documents, and let the process happen.
Getting all worked up and angsty, doesn't change the fact that if another set of documents needs to be signed (for whatever reason) that you don't need to sign them… keep your eye on the finish line, take the hurdles to get there in your stride.
Alternatively pull out of the whole thing and don't proceed with the remortgage, just stay with your current lender accepting the higher rate as the price of not dealing with this bureaucracy.

Its not that people are happy to do it. Feed it back, but that is all you can do. It wont change anything.
I have worked for a bank, where people would complain about the same thing for years. It would get added to a list along with a million other things. I have not worked at the bank for 18 years - 18 years! And I know some of those things still have not been fixed.
You filling out a form twice, is not affecting them. It is free legals, your unlikely to go elsewhere. You get what you pay for as they say.
Im not saying you are wrong, I am just saying nothing will happen until it starts costing them money.

Same things over and over you say - like whinging on here constantly. You said you had better things to do than complete the same paperwork but apparently have plenty time to moan about it.
Some people have real issues going on, yours is a very minor inconvenience.

The fun isn't over yet.
Two months after doing everything required of me (twice) they are back asking me to do it again 😂
The last handler left and someone else took over. Apparently they didn't receive the items I sent (aren't I so unlucky to have post go missing TWICE).
Also the digital ID confirmation "partly failed" apparently. Yet it's strange how this was not mentioned when I was told everything was in line two months ago.
I have never in my life engaged in such a stupidly disorganised and scatterbrained process.
This industry is a complete joke.

Don't use the industry then.
