I was commenting on your previous suggestion that you "pay for tracking to prove I posted it" rather than paying to potentially reduce the risk of items going missing as such, which is a different point!

I worded it poorly, apologies. I edited my post to show what I meant. Thanks for pointing it out.

I meant to prove you posted it AND to track it along the way as well as prove it got delivered if the passport office have issues finding the item. As well as the fact they have to scan tracked items along the way which may mean they handle the item better.
Plus you can see where it went missing and sometimes they can find it again.

To send mail freepost with proof of delivery requires an additional chargeable service - signed for or registered.

Signed for is hardly worth it. It goes with normal first or second class and should then be shown on the web site as its delivered - despite the name no signatures have been taken since covid.

RM24 or RM48 are much better services if you want tracking along the way and quite competitively priced especially if bought online.
