This is what you have been waiting for, it is easier to defend (and win) in court that it is to appeal. What is the date of issue of the claim form? Show us the POC but redact any personal information and data.

No worries. All single ticket Euro Car Parks claims are discontinued. From DCB Legal presumably.

You will be using the template defence and formulating your own brief paragraph 3, which will depend on what their particulars say.

Delete the picture ASAP, redact it properly, hiding the claim form reference number, password and VRM details, then repost it

ECP via DCB Legal using MCOL, issue date 14th July, parked without paying a van tariff

As the breach is stated, just use the Template Defence with your own paragraph 3 facts / denial of liability.

I'm a bit surprised you didn't seem ready or to know how darn easy these claims are to defend! You even asked if it had to be paid.

That's worrying (we can tell you haven't read enough, despite being told earlier that this is the stage you want!) so I suggest you read a few Euro Car Parks claim defences to get a feel for what to bung in as paragraph 3.

    Don't overthink it.

    All defended cases are discontinued.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Point taken! I do need to make time to have a thorough read of these threads. I’ll do that and put together my response. I’m assuming it’s ok that my husband just didn’t see the van tariff and say that? Don’t really have much other defence apart from he paid a car tariff…

Read Twenty or more paragraph 3's in other ECP DCB LEGAL cases on here over the last 6 months, see what they wrote, then show us your proposed concuse paragraph 3 below ( don't write it from scratch. )

If the defendant actually paid ECP, ( regardless of if it was the wrong amount. ) then the defendant could state that they believe that they paid the correct amount on the day, or just use a generic denial of the POC

    Don't overthink this stage

With an issue date of 14/07/26 and providing you complete(d) the AoS before or on 02/08/26 your defence deadline date is 4.00 p.m. on 17/08/26
