Part of Goudy's post above said….. 'but your model and year car could have been built with Stop/Start. Some did and some didn't'. I have just checked on the dash and in the manual and I am now almost certain it hasn't got Stop/Start. There is no sign of an override switch or anything else as described in the manual.

Over three days to and 4 pages of posts to decide on which battery to buy, It took me half an hour to drive to a local fast fit, have it tested, get a new one fitted and pay the money.

Get it done asap. I can guarantee your existing battery won't fail at a time you think is very convenient.

The above using a auto centre is exactly what I wouldnt do ….if cost is a issue..ever heard of MSE?

You do need abit of standard battery knowledge of course……then in the future you can pay alot less every time you buy a battery .

You certainly wont get a 5yr Varta 063 for £51 from a auto centre which you can buy today at that price delivered.

Givern it seems your battery may be a very popular lead acid 063 type 207x175x175mm or a 012 which is just 15mm taller they always come up discounted in winter as shown in the links above .

Depending on the brand you may even get more Ah and CCA for actually spending less .

You can pay anywhere from £30 for a cheap discounted 3yr Lion from ECP on ebay ….which wont last long and are lower Ah/CCA or spend around £40-£50 for a Varta Bosch Exide or even less for Drivetec made by Yuasa and thats delivered as said Type 063 come up cheap cause they are so common/popular.

Its just a simple step by step earning curve ……you dont have to follow the lemmings to a auto centre .Making a saving is the point of asking on a Money saving website .

If a Ebay battery supplier with a discount takes too much time ,you cant wait and/or its to much work just go direct to Tayna or any other battery supplier….. its still going to be less than a auto centre.
