Thanks for your reply. I put my reg in Halfords website and they came up with 9 different batteries. A few of them are Stop/Start but a few are not for example:

    Halfords AGM115 Start/Stop 12V Car Battery 5 Year Guarantee
    4.7
    (828)
    £258.99
    £246.00

Halfords HCB012 Calcium 12V Car Battery 4 Year Guarantee
    4.7
    (746)
    £123.00

I don't expect to buy from Halfords after the advice given here.

Read the bit about taking photos of your battery and do more research also ring BMS if using websites is not poss … Forget Halfords even exist!! https://www.bmstechnologies.co.uk/product-category/car-batteries/

    https://www.bmstechnologies.co.uk/contact-us/

If you did in a moment of weakness buy off Halfords …you will have been burnt ….financially !

I related a Halfords jump starter story …halfords has 1000,s of negative storys.

Watched a guy attempting to start his car with a £60 Halfords jump starter it was a really really small low amp battery like 280cca in his small car

It wouldnt jump start it because the jump starter could not detect any charge or voltage in the battery for the jump starter to work ie. it has no booster feature to overide this issue….so in other words it was completely hopeless and would not start a dead flat battery ,not much bigger than a motorcycle battery .

So what good is it ?

He likely would have got a private parking invoice ie. parking ticket…. as well as needing a taxi .

That is why you look at your current battery and write down the codes on it. Then you look at the battery listings you have found and buy a battery with the same code. If your car has stop/start then make sure whatever battery you buy is for stop/start.

Halfords, people love to hate them but they have good things too. And if you work it out it has some great deals.

For example their professional tool range is as good as any snap-on crap.

I have taken a photo of the battery and this it what it shows:

    GM VARTA P/N 13 390 019 GJ

    AH 50 CCA (EN) 360

    CCA (SAE/GS) 360

I am confused because I cannot find the same one or anything like it! I am also unsure if it's Stop/Start as even the manual does not confirm it.

It's a Varta battery badged up for GM/Vauxhall. That is if it's the original/correct battery fitted.

Depending on what was available and where the car was made, it could have had a different brand but the same type of battery fitted (13390019 GL). GM/Vauxhall don't make batteries, they just farm them out to however can supply to them at the time to where the car was built.

You won't find the exact battery even if you went to your local VX dealer, they'd just sell you whatever brand of 13390019GJ they have in stock or in their supply chain.

You can cross reference it here with lots of choice.

    13 390 019 GJ AP XENERGY, BANNER | 13390019GJ in AUTODOC

The closest (ie same brand) would be the Varta C22 Blue Dynamic but you probably find that cheaper on sites like Tayna Batteries.

But writing all that, we don't really know what your actual car is (engine's make a difference to which battery), so can't say for certain that the battery already in it was correct to start with.

Looks to be a (uk code) 012 Type which do come up discounted the sizing would be 207mm x 175mm x190mm .

The above is one way you ID batterys by the uk type number and sizing which will all be noted on Tayna BMS sites battery details so you can double triple check ..

    One option

DriveTec 012 batterys made by Yuasa are a cost effective option sold by GSF on ebay with a discount code or perhaps another seller with a current running discount on ebay .

Any other seller with current discount codes can be searched

The problem is people want cheap batterys but cant deal with the battery ID research work or getting ones hands dirty measuring it up which is just a further method of ID.

Using the uk type numbers works well and sizing helps check that .

Note the 012 UK Type in Taynas battery details you must look for …
