BT/EE

I'm a little confused. I was switched to EE from BT last time my contract was up.

But I continually see people on here talking about renewing their bb with BT. So what is the score, is BT for business or not. Or are all these people businesses?

on here

David.

BT made a corporate decision to have EE as the consumer brand , and BT as the business brand and started making a ‘soft’ push of BT customers towards EE and offering new customers better deals on EE than BT to encourage users to take EE .

There then there was a change of very senior management and some new very large investors (large enough to get seats on the board ) who apparently had a different view on if this were a good idea , and the announcement was made that BT Group wouldn’t be continuing with BT becoming a business only brand leaving the consumer market in favour of EE , however there is still this gradual lean towards EE , and the EE deals often beat the comparable BT one , plus the lack of advertising of BT compared to the EE advertising suggests that even if the corporate vision has altered, this hasn’t significantly changed the actuality, perhaps things like advertising contracts , staff training , pricing , offers , etc are set in place so far in advance that simply saying this isn’t our policy anymore does not change anything in the short term .

Thanks folks, I've checked BT and there about £2 dearer than EE, who I'm with at present, but Plusnet is even cheaper!

I've got my mobile with EE too, but 1p is cheaper and Mozallian is cheaper too.

So some straight talking needed next month, when my broaband contract is up.

    Thanks again

Wasn't there also some issue with landline phones via EE which if your mobile signal is dodgy is a problem.

Don't know about that, my EE signal with mobile is excellent, and the house landline works ok, although I will be discontinueing the service at the end of my contract as it is no longer of use.
