I assume all the vast quantities of mercury the dentist was packing into the patients teeth was harmless !!!!0 -

Each patient is only exposed to a small amount for a small time. Once it's in the tooth/filling paste it's harmless. The dentist is exposed to it all day every day.
It's like going for an x-ray - you're liying on the bed exposed to the x-rays but the nurse/doctor is hiding behind a screen.
For the patient it's a small dose - for the dentist/doctor, it's huge.

Sue, you should have hung on to a couple of those bulbs until this weekend - if you go along to B + Q they will swap two old-style bulbs for two new-style ones.Signature removed for peace of mind0

With bulbs lasting 10 years (or far, far more, depending on usage) I can see myself with them coming out of my ears when the government want to ban this 'old-fashioned' technology (maybe because of the mercury, who knows?) and force us all to use the new LED lights (which will probably be cheaper, better, cost less to use and last longer) within three or four years.
Just a thought.......0 -
