I asked ChatGPT to simplify and sort out my investments

I think many pay £90 per month or more in the UK for a TV package from Sky, Virgin or BT especially if they want to include sport. And some then pay for Netflix etc on top!
I think....1 -
I believe that AI usage will follow a similar path to our media provision. One day we will wake up to a large bill for something we never knew we wanted or needed.
Some AI is going from subscription pricing to token billing and I wonder how much you'd pay for AI to analyze your finances. Will people prefer an AI IFA to a flesh and blood IFA?
And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.0 -
Just interested if anyone has used AI (Co pilot etc) to help with pension planning? Am just trying it out now, to see if it looks anything like my spreadsheet…

Not sure what you help you are looking for but the general positives and negatives are probably covered in that already long running thread

I personally found Gemini to be the most thorough when considering retirement planning, thinking up things along lines even I hadn't considered and leading the discussion down a very logical path. Chat GPT missed a few important things and Claude was terrible.
• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
I've been retired for 16 months and I've used Gemini.
I have it access to all my pension statements from my pension providers from 2019 onwards and gave it my expected spending and asked how to prioritise my withdrawals based on my investments in those pensions,.
Gemini provided what I already had assumed was the correct approach from when I initially started planning my retirement in June2024.
It was nice to get some re-assurance that it thought I had done the right thing without me telling it what I had done ,just by using the pension/investment statements and when I intended to retire.

The rate AI is advancing, it wont be long before the IFA you use will be using AI behind the scenes (The smart ones will already be doing it)Not s. The first stage of change is already happening with fewer people doing what was multiple people’s jobs as they are fining massive efficiencies using AI to do a big chunk of work and therefore acting as Level 2 checkers more than anything else. happening all over the place. ANy job involving looking things up from helpcentres to solicitors, accountants are all using AI - mostly through company contracts so more advanced than the joe blogs version. One of my ex-colleagues in IT is doing a deal to get AI into hospitals to do quicker analysing of patient scans for all sorts of things.
I’ not saying its going to end well but the path is looking pretty inevitable.

We are heading for a "computer says no" world, without any paths for complaint. We've all experienced the frustrations of automated billing and call centers that are designed to frustrate rather than answer questions…well I just see more of that. It's inevitable if we just roll over and let it happen. I avoid AI whenever possible and the likes of Amazon and Netflix. I imagine I will be blown away in a tech wind, but if enough hear the call we might make a small difference.
And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.1 -

OTOH the rate AI companies are spending money, they'll mostly be bankrupt before the end of the decade.

I have used Gemini to ask when it thought I should retire based on my pension and other savings. I then fed it more and different information and it was interesting to see what it said but also it made a lot of errors. I could spot the obvious one like it telling me I needed to be 57 to access my pension despite my telling it I would be 57 before the rule change. However it was really helpful.
