Is anyone else having problems accessing MYACCOUNT on TalkTalk and the support forum is down as well…….
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Thanks - OK I am now in - they must have been doing some work on the site …
As usual - still no upgrade to FF available according to the site - despite it actually being available for over 3 years - for some reason TT don't want me to upgrade !

Talktalk are getting out of the broadband business ,they are loosing money at a rate that they cannot sustain , We have been switched over to UW and up to now the switch is seamless , time will tell.

Technically you've gone nowhere, as UW was TalkTalk Broadband in different colours.

OK What's going to happen to TT customers on FTTC - Waiting to upgrade to FF ?
If we upgrade - we run the risk of being transferred to other providers - but if we don't - what will happen when copper connections are stopped …. ?
Is it TT's responsibility to ensure that their customers are able to connect - come what may ?
It does seem that TT are not in a hurry to get all their customers upgraded to FF at the moment

Copper connections wont just stop and will be around for quite some time in some areas. There will be a point where changing provider will require an upgrade to FTTP, or if you stay with the existing provider, they will arrange for an upgrade.

So Openreach's warning - that ALL copper will be replaced with fibre by (at present) Jan 31st 2027 deadline - is meaningless ?
"The UK’s traditional copper phone network and associated broadband services (including FTTC) are being permanently switched off as part of the move to full-fibre and digital services. The current deadline for the full public switched telephone network (PSTN) retirement — which also affects copper-based broadband like FTTC — is 31 January 2027. After that date, copper-dependent services will stop working nationwide."

That isn't quite what they say.

Not sure where you got that quote from, do you have a source?

The January 2027 deadline is only for the PSTN/WLR switch off , that’s all , it’s not the retirement of the copper pair network, it’s the equipment located inside the exchange that provides in simple terms , old style telephony , the type that isn’t delivered over broadband, someone on a copper pair , either a full copper pair from the exchange, or on a hybrid fibre to the cabinet and copper pair to the house continues to be served.
FTTP (full fibre) for many is still years away , and for some they may never get FTTP but some other solution , the article quoted is at best is poorly worded and at worst misleading.
