Ridiculous pile of parking charges

  1. I received a DCBL letter informing me of a charge from 2023 for returning to a venue on the same day, I had never gotten a letter from the parking company (ParkingEye), so I informed them of this in an email (below) IMG_2333.png IMG_2334.jpeg As seen, I also clarified I do not know who the driver was because the vehicle is insured as a driving school vehicle and I am an instructor, I am also not the keeper of the vehicle (my wife is, who I have not named). They’re now threatening me of passing me back to their client (which I asked them to do) and then issuing a CCJ. As per newbies, I have been ignoring it but should I do anything else? I plan to go to the location and speak to them but if it doesn’t work, should I just forget about it?

  1. There are two other charges (MET parking) on both of my vehicles that are accusing me of leaving a McDonald’s using ANPR tech, I appealed (both appeals were rejected by them ) saying there’s no clear boundary, I was a customer (attached bank app proof) and the main sign doesn’t say anything other than McDonald’s customers only (my photo of the sign, the photo of the sign they put when rejecting my appeal)

CLEARLY different. Truthfully the manager knows me and said he’ll try to get it cancelled (not sure what that means). However I keep getting these DRP letters which I have been ignoring as per the newbies advice but they’ve been piling up and causing a lot of distress.

I would like this all to be resolved within the end of the year as I plan to go on holiday this summer then move to another city by next year. I am not well versed in legal issues and English is not my first language (actually my daughter is writing this for me). Wasting her time or spending on a solicitor isn’t something I want to do. Is there anything I can do to stop them from pestering me?

Sorry if this has already been answered.

You don't need a solicitor. Ignore DRP letters and DCB Ltd letters.

Tell them all by email when you move house and require the parking firms and debt crawlers to erase your old address.

Come back here if you get a DCB Legal LBC or a CNBC (Northampton) Claim Form

A two bit parking company cannot "issue a CCJ" you would have to be taken to court, lose the claim, and then fail to pay the amount a judge decided up on before a CCJ could be issued, and this forum would help with any claim anyway.

Leaving site scams never go anywhere it's just an add on money making ruse that halfwitted parking companies try on to maximise their profits.

Just follow C-m's advice above, you can't do anything to stop them pestering you within the six years of the incidents, the know this and just try to wear you down in their quest for money.

  • Thank you for your reply. I’ll keep ignoring as advised.

  • Thank you for letting me know. It is just nerve wracking to be harassed by these letters every week or so. I’ll continue ignoring as advised.

did the vehicle make two separate visits that have been recorded as one?

for example the car entered at 08:30 left a 09:00

entered again at 17:30 left at 18:00 but the parking company says it entered at 08:30 and left at 18:00

    From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"
  • I honestly don’t know since it was well over 2 years ago, I might’ve parked in the lot and grabbed lunch from the Burger King and then my wife might’ve taken the vehicle to go to pick up my daughter from sixth form and taken her to the cinema the same day (since there’s a cinema there too). Or it could’ve been my pupil behind the wheel and a different pupil later on in the day (but I obviously didn’t keep any records of who I was teaching years ago). I have no idea what actually happened since I didn’t get any letter at the time. The debt collectors said it’s because I visited the parking twice in the same day but I’m 100% sure I didn’t since I’ve lived near this lot for the past 20+ years and I’ve always been mindful to not enter it twice in the same day.

Whilst ignoring debt collectors (DO NOT PHONE THEM AGAIN):

Email the parking firm's DPO now, requiring all the raw images of the car on site that day and a log of times of all entries and returns.

The DPO email is on the PPC's privacy page.

  • I thankfully haven’t called them once, the only debt collector I have communicated with is DCBL through the email I attached. Since then I haven’t said anything to any of them, especially since the McDonalds branch already told me to ignore DRP.

I’ll email and ask, thank you.

They sent across images but they've just used the same exact images for both entry times (it's definitely me in the vehicle), the exit images seem barely different. I am extremely confused as I am 100% sure I have never entered the parking lot twice especially not 26 minutes after just leaving. Is it possible their CCTV has an error..? Or is this purposeful?
