Torn Vinyl flooring.

My vinyl flooring has been getting worn and stretched in my utility room for many years now and I moved the washing machine and a chunk came out.

I see it can be repaired but I think it might be time to replace it.

I am looking for something harder wearing, I can lay tiles but not sure I want them in that room.

Has anyone here used rubber flooring? I thought it might be good and hard wearing for the washing machine.

The room is just under 2M x 3M.

    There is also non slip vinyl flooring, which as well as being non slip, is tougher and harder wearing than other vinyl flooring types.

    It is mainly used in non residential settings such as the bathrooms of care homes, hospitals, or anywhere where slipping on wet flooring is a potential issue. However you can certainly use it in the home. We have some, and I have dragged a washing machine across it a number of times and it has never torn, and looks pretty much like new, 25 years after it was fitted. It is quite stiff, so a bit more tricky to fit than normal sheet vinyl.

    @tribetown

    If you get a couple of lengths of wooden broom handle cut to size you can use these as rollers to move the machine into place without damaging new flooring..

    Many thanks for the answers, very helpful.

    Glad, I am pleased the tiles worked out for you, I would prefer no joins.

    GDB2222, thanks for the suggestion.

    sammyjammy, thanks for the link, it is difficult to find 2m width though, they seem to be either 1m or 1.5m.

    Albermarle, thanks for the link, I do like the look of the non slip vinyl flooring and it comes in 2m width.

    £39.95 for shipping though.

    Eldi-Dos, great tip, I will use that when taking the washing machine and fridge out of the room.
