Cavity Wall installer left thousands of beads in my garden and down my drain

I just got a warm homes grant and had cavity wall installation. They left the job l without saying goodbye, and I then realised they had left thousands of plastic beads all over my lawn, in my flower beds and down my drain. I feel so upset.. they are sinking into the mud and I cant get them out , and they drilled above my drain without covering the drain and there are so many beads down the drain..The company just said that they are non toxic, but I don't want loads of plastics in my soil or down my drain. Is this common practice? I'm feeling anxious now as to how well they did the cavity wall. ..

Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE :)

Given "I just got a warm homes grant and had cavity wall installation", it will be the bodge it and scarper brigade. So yes, it is common practice. They will have done the job for the least possible cost in order to claim the grant.

    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

I thought as much.. I found out today they have all blown out into the loft as well aThey sent 2 different guys who took one look at the garden and the loft and refused to fix a mess they didnt make ..I've made a formal complaint, but the manager is now refusing to get it fixed. I don't know what to do, as I'm disabled and can't afford to pay someone to come and fix it. m really worried now as to if they have done a poor job, as I don't want damp in future.

If it was done under the warm homes grant, you need to complain to whoever runs the grant. Maybe try your local council first

Do the grant people contact you to check all is OK before paying out the grant money?

I'm not sure, tbh, as I'm having the solar installed today and still have lost insulation to come.

You are right to complain and see about getting it checked and delt with but don't worry till you loose sleep in the meantime. I found some had blown into the loft and it had blocked some air vents but it didn't cause any problems.

I'm not sure how to post pictures on here, .I ended up doing 7 hours of clean up of the beads,in total, and thern the company overseeinfg the grant, sent people to clean them up it ended up being an 11 hour clean up job in total.. I didnt get a response from my formal complaint to the subcontractors who left them, but I have reported them to trading standards. I'm so relieved they are finally out of my soil. They had to dig turf up in the end to get them out.

Glad it's sorted for you. Great they sent people out instead of delaying it .
