BT really annoy me
I have BT broadband, wothout phone or mobile.
After logging into My BT several times I could not access any bill info or even get the name of the package I have.
On phoning them, I was told I am on Full-Fibre 150 All-Rounder.
I am on the basic speed for this package and paying North of £52 a month. Just me in the house and I am not an excessive user.
On looking at the BT site, I noticed newbies get the same service for just over £28 a month.
I am still in contract and have been with BT for years and years.

Seems expensive for the speed. I pay less than £40 for a 900Mbs full fibre (not BT).

if you are on FTTP , you get the speed you pay for , so if that’s 150Mb , that’s what you get , so ‘basic speed for this package’ makes no sense , if you mean basic for FTTP then it’s inaccurate too as 40,55 and 80Mb are available on FTTP and presumably on your reckoning more basic than your 150Mb .
If you are paying as much as you are you must have additional services (are you on a Halo package ? ) or must be well outside a minimum term and have been for quite some time as that price hasn’t been a standard 150Mb price for years .
Full Fibre 150 (that’s the current package name for 150Mb) is £29 , goes up to £33 in March and £37 the following March , I’ve no idea when anything was called an ‘all rounder’ but it’s must be a pretty old package and therefore chances are you can renew for around the new customer price , the maximum residential ‘contract’ is 24 months BTW , so how do you define being in contract for ‘years and years’ ?

I think "all-rounder" is marketing speak as in its a good starting base for FTTP and nothing else to do with the product.
Disregarding the suggestion you don't seem to know what package you're on and then complaining you're paying £52 a month for that package, I suggest if you're not happy with the price (and you're not paying for extras like Halo, Anti-virus, BT/EE TV, etc), then find somebody else.
You can stay with BT in name by either moving to EE or Plusnet. FTTP 145Mb £23.99 I can see from their website, but they don't have Digital Voice if that's a requirement for you. EE do, but Plusnet don't.

When did you take this contract out?
Unless you have been renewing every year, 18 months or 2 years (depending on contract length) then you are only on a rolling monthly contract.
The fact you are not a heavy user makes no difference to cost.

BT have advised me that the Full Fibre 150 All-Rounder, which I am on has 3 tiers/speeds, and I am on the basic, slower of the 3 speeds. Yes, I get Antivirus included, but all BT broadband customers do.
I have also been advised that i am in contract until November, but when November comes, or about a month before, moving to a cheaper deal will leave me with slower Broadband and at current my deal means my connection is a guaranteed speed and guaranteed always on.
I have been advised that All-Rounder means that if an engineer needs to visit me, I will not be charged a fee.
It still appears to me that I am paying way more than newbies on the same contract.

It's not a business deal by any chance?
What speed do you actually get (preferably via a hardwired to the router device)?

I did a test and I am getting the full 150Mb.
I logged into my account, which tells me I am in contract until November, but I can upgrage now. All the deals on offer, including one for the same speed are the same price.
Yet, if I look on the site as a new member, BT/EE are offering the product I have for around half the price.
It appears to be the usual case of charging loyal customers a premium.

No idea what this 3 tier thing they told you about was then. When you say the same price, you mean the £52 you're paying? Do you get anything else for that price (not the AV software as that's worthless TBH)?
Just checked and I'm offered (with landline) 150mbps at £31 and goes up to 900mbps
at a rather tempting £38. I'm in contract with VM until June so I'll keep an eye out on that.Edit: On 2nd thoughts I've just checked on the MSE Unbundled website and that £38 is maybe not that good ;)
