Yes, the Beko is a heat pump dryer.

Your posting is most interesting. My Ebac washing machine will only spin at 1600 RPM on one setting. Ebac claims that it has taken various measures to ensure that the machine will not spin at high speed when the load is imbalanced. Hence, Ebac offers a 7-year warranty on its machines.

I think most manufacturers, even the budget ones, do the same. The last two machines I've had will spin slowly back and forth to try and spread the load if they start the faster spins and the load is unbalanced. In extreme cases they'll terminate the cycle early, forcing me to rebalance the load myself or take a little out. Rarely happens, but neither do I have the 1980s experience of a machine waltzing its way across the kitchen when spinning!

From what I gather a LOT of heat pump dryers on the market lack proper filters to filter out all the lint. It ends up being deposited inside the condenser fins and eventually that's the end of the dryer.
I bought a Miele heat pump dryer about 3 years ago which apparently does have proper filters, both a double mesh filter inside the main drum area and a foam filter which sits in front of the condenser. I checked a random one on Beko's site and they only show it as having the mesh filters in the instruction manual. The fact that I still have to clean the foam filter maybe once every couple of months (although admittedly it's hardly running 24/7) shows that even with light usage, there's still a decent amount of fine fluff that would otherwise end up inside the condenser. It smells a lot like many of the dryers on the market are "designed to fail" to me.
Apparently you can DIY this with suitable foam and it'll work pretty much as well as the ones that actually have these filters.1 -
I think that you have got to the heart of the matter. Our Candy heat pump was written off by D&G after two years. Our Beko, two years old, is a high-use machine: it has two netting-type filters but no foam filter. Our second machine is a Hoover with a foam filter, and this has lasted five years so far. We have to wash and dry dog towels daily since we are keen rural walkers.
