Quick question re: GiffGaff or similar PAYG

I got a giffgaff sim near the end of 2023 for an old phone.
I topped it up with £10, and then every couple of months I do an outgoing text to keep the sim alive.
I currently have £7.95 credit of that original £10 left, so it seems a pretty cheap way to keep a secondary sim alive to me.1 -
No this is incorrect. I have a spare phone on GiffGaff and that's not a requirement.

If you have a friend already on GiffGaff ask them to request a free SIM for you and you will each get £5 credit, I did this when I got my spare phone, it's so easy to do.

Thanks so much everyone. Really appreciate the insight and suggestions. Looks like GiffGaff is my best option 😍
