Is it going to rain everyday in the UK forever now?

I feel like it's never going to stop raining now, feels like it's going to rain every single day for the rest of time?

Thing I don't understand is most countries when it rains it rains heavy but it's over pretty quickly. In our country it rains every so slightly but drags on for a week. Then by the time that cloud has dumped its water, another one has formed to replace it.

I seem to remember saying to fellow gardeners in the summer that I thought it would never rain again

  • The winter of 1946/7 was absolutely devastating due to snow. The UK Narrowly avoided mass starvation thanks to humanitarian aid from Canada etc. then the snow melted and there was mass flooding.

Anticyclone stuck over Scandinavia caused it apparently

  • No it's not going to rain every day, on the days of doesn't rain it will snow and be icy interrupted occasionally by heavy storms, high winds and danger to life. Later this year summer will arrive and there will probably be water shortages. So, not to bad eh !

It is mainly related to the location of the UK.

We are surrounded by the sea on all sides, whereas countries like France, Germany, Spain etc are not.

Interestingly consider how North the UK is, it should be significantly colder than it is. All those clouds and rain coming over the Atlantic, actually means our Winters are generally quite mild considering our location.

Some parts of the country have only had the hosepipe bans lifted in the last week or so.
