Cheapest car leasing deal?

Thanks, and i know that you still need insurance to lease a car, but say someone smashes the heck into the car whilst its parked in a public car park and writes it off and then drives off…what happens then?, would the insurance cough up?, and would the leasing company use their financial clout to get you good lawyers so that you definitely get the insurance pay out?….or rather, you dont end up having to pay for the car?

The Octavia is there on a 6+30 with 10K for £335pm. Ultimately you’re looking for something not that popular. An estate and a diesel.

The finance company will get paid either way, so they don't care.
Your insurance will pay the finance company directly. If there's a shortfall then you'll still owe money - so you need GAP insurance. If there's a surplus then you don't see it.0 -
It can be both.
The lease cost is essentially the depreciation of the car + maintenance costs + profit.
Buying a car at a bigger discount means less depreciation, as does buying a car with stronger residuals.0 -
Check your insurance some will cover new for old in first 12 months.

No lease co do not get involved. Your ins co would pay out, but that could leave you with a big balance to pay between the value of the car (lease co) & what the ins co pays out.
So make sure that you have GAP ins just incase.

Thanks for that, I'm out of touch these days I would be hoping to pay £300 (aggregated over the term) on a £30k car or as close to it as possible. I changed the way I buy to picking up <4 year old cars from Copart (I had fairly strict criteria) and having them repaired. Current car 2016 Superb which I bought for £8,500 (repaired) when it was just under 3 years old now 10yo. Even that game is looking very much less attractive these days with cost of second hand parts.

I feel you. The whole landscape has changed. The days of picking up a great deal on a 3+36 for 10K miles at sub £250 are long gone.
Like you, I also prefer that classic “saloon” car bodystyle. Not an SUV or anything else. Alas, the market - apparently - does not want those. So people like you and me are left with not a lot of choices.
I’ve got a Golf GTI at the moment on a 6+24 which is £320pm. That was a “good” deal at the time.
For anyone wondering why I leased (because that’s not MSE), it’s my final hurrah with an ICE hot hatch.

Pretty cheap, don't know if the vehicle is any cop!
