UC have said because of my earnings my wife will loose the payment. We thought my earning would not count towards this she is his main carer and can not work. She has no earning at all.

Can you confirm as a couple you would still get some money from UC?

Your wife will not lose Carers allowance because your earnings have nothing to do with this.

Your earnings will affect your joint UC claim and the usual deductions of 55p for every £1 of earnings received will apply. If your UC includes the child element then you will have the work allowance before those deductions apply.
