Gmail folders missing on phone

(if anyone has any suggestions for what the best ones are I'd be happy to see them).

For a few years I have been using Fairemail, I am using the paid for version but I find it excellent. There is loads of configuration options that can make it seem complicated but it's worth exploring them. Check the reviews.

There was a new version of Gmail in the Play store today (version 2026.02.02) but having installed it and restarted the phone I'm still not seeing the folder list, so whatever change was made it doesn't seem to have been to fix that issue.

As everything else had failed I decided to go for the nuclear option of clearing storage. That briefly worked, in that I could see the folders again, but now the phone has sync'd with my email provider it's all gone again. Looks like that's the end of the road for Gmail and I'll have to find an email app that actually works.

@SiliconChip Just checked (Saturday 1235) and my folders are back! I hadn't done anything all morning to try and fix it so hopefully something has resolved behind the scenes via an update. Or they'll vanish again soon.

Yes, same for me. I don't believe there has been an update as the version date for the Gmail app is still the same as it was yesterday so perhaps there has been a server side change made that's resolved the issue. I guess we'll have to see whether it stays fixed!

Hi guys, me too. Emails reappeared on Saturday at some point. Let's hope there's no more glitches.
