New line issue. get multiple characters (Android)

Just to paste in a comment I left over on the main Rich Editor Feedback thread, we're really struggling to reproduce this in a way our forum provider can use to investigate:

At this point, any additional details your members can provide would be extremely helpful (for example: exact steps before the characters repeat, whether they are typing or pasting, and any other device/browser info).

We’re having a hard time gathering concrete evidence to hand this over to our developers, so the more specifics we can collect from affected users, the better positioned we’ll be to move this into a deeper technical investigation.

Any more info any member can provide will be of great help 🙏

I'm having this problem intermittently. Android Chrome, not sure what the keyboard is called but it's a Google one designed for English and Chinese.

Edit: just as a piece of info, it happened after a quote on another thread, just now.

Still having this problem at times, including with GBoard, the standard keyboard that came with Android. But that's also giving me problems elsewhere with the cursor jumping to part of a word when it autocorrects and it's just an overall nightmare. Just, it's even more so on here with the initial 1-3 letters being duplicated at the beginning of lines, not even confined to the start of the post!

Update: so I tried my previous keyboard (Google Pinyin input) because GBoard is incredibly annoying not having functions I rely on and causing problems on here … it was not any better!

Let's see if it's any better after updating Chrome?

HouHowHouHowHouHowHouHowHouHowHouHowHouHowHouHow about with pinyin input? Not exactly great, oh dear. Start witaboutStarwitaboutStawitaboutStarwitaboutSta what notnopenotnope. Oh absolutely not. ← I'm leaving all that in as an extra example. And at one point it made the cursor jump to the beginning and duplicate 'update' about 10 times, no exaggeration.

Further edit: I've now tried with two other keyboards, they are both terrible to different degrees here, but they are both fine elsewhere. It is just this site with problems with keyboard apps varying from 'annoying' to 'utterly unusable'. I shall definitely have to be sticking to my phone for MSE.
