    What I did:

TrTrued To write Ta @ someone's username and it came out as Ta @beabean

    This happens constantly

I'm leaving the forum's auto formatting in the above as I tried to write this too

    What Should happen:

IIt Shouldn't insert extra letters or capitals where they weren't put

    AAs above

(forum overwrote the 'What happened' title when I backspaced despite it only should have gone back one line- so the double spacing issue we raised in the main thread is not just that issue but seems like the coding doesn't recognise its own double spacing? Regardless it should only have deleted one letter, not the whole line)

    Why it matters:

People are likely to not notice they're not tagging effectively, it is time consuming to constantly correct, and makes the site seem unprofessional

    Device/Browser:

    AnAndroid (Forum formatting) and chrome

Sorry @PennysIntoPounds, I'm having difficulty understanding your post. Could you go into more detail.

@masonic, I think a part of the problem you mention is due to us having members with certain usernames.

That there is a user with the name 'mse' is confusing the system when you type mse_stephen.
That username, and some similar legacy usernames, would probably be better removed as they could confuse our members anyway. So we'll work towards doing that with our members and it'll help with at least that issue.

Just to add, when writing a reply to someone's thread, it also does that annoying adding in repeated letters thing most but not all of the time

(Just writing straight into text box without any symbols or pasting from elsewhere etc)

Sorry for not highlighting that before

Please stop snarkily responding to my posts @eskbanker. I'm sorry everyone isn't as clever as you, I'm trying my best

    @mmse

@MSE_Stephen asked what browsers it wasn't working on, I had previously said chrome, I added IE as that was what I thought I was currently on

However I was mistaken and having just looked it up I came here to correct to- the main one I use is the Samsung Browser which all the faults I've reported are occurring in, I've just looked up the detail and apparently it's Samsung browser 29 if that means anything to the server team

Not aware of any snarky responses - I was just surprised to see reference to an old outdated browser, and obviously a quick and easy resolution to problems when using that would be to stick to modern ones instead! Clearly the more accurate information that can be supplied to the forum team the better, so that they have improved prospects of being able to reproduce, identify and ultimately fix technical issues, so hopefully your correction will avoid a wild goose chase…
