Parking eye ticket

we attend an event earlier this year and parked in carp park operated by Parking Eye. On our return one machine was out of order and the second was faulty and would not accept coins. There was no other method of payment. As evidence we took photos and ab video of the faulty machine not accepting payment. There was many of us in that situation and most could not pay once the only working machine became jammed. I wrote to them explaining the situation and also included our photo evidence but this was rejected as they claim there were other payment methods available which is not true! What do you advise as this car park is known to scam people? Shall I appeal to POPLA first?

If you have photo of car park sign showing there were no other methods of paying.

    Name the car park.

Are you in time to use the POPLA Code? Worth a try if so, with the evidence of the sign (which doesn't say to leave if the machines are not working) and saying what happened and putting ParkingEye to strict proof that people paid at that time, and how they paid.

Plus the usual No Landowner Authority point you saw when you read post 3 of the NEWBIES thread.

thanks. Yes still within the POPLA time frame so will appeal to them. Anything in particular you can advise to help them make them understand exactly what happened in my situation? Thanks again

hi, I have recieved a response from POPLA today with Parking Eye’s version of events. They have submitted alleged evidence showing parking payment activity around and before and after the time I was trying to pay. This is not possible as there were quite a few of us trying to pay and the machine was jammed. They have redacted the plate numbers of those so called driver who paid at that time? I would like to personally contact them if they were in this particular car park at that time? They have also sent a picture showing payment via a QR code or by telephone. This was not advertised anywhere when we were trying to pay? I think PE are deliberately being dishonest and those cars that have showed payment I totally disbelieve and could be a print out from any machine in the UK? What do you advise?

Show us the evidence. Does it state it relates to that car park?

It does claim it’s related to that car park but looks like it can be typed to show any car park?

What if the last person paid on entry, and the machine broke at 2330. Better evidence needed!
