As always, quote a post and cut a lot of text out to leave the relevant part, or if a short post, just highlight it.
Doesn't seem possible with this update.
Got to say, This is a shocking update. Basic RTE has been common in forum software such as xenforo for years without all these issues.

The inability to quote posts in a way that the source can be actually read, plus the failings to allow highlighting or partial quotes continues to make the forum substandard.

Totally agree. Was just about to reply to a post in which I needed to highlight a saliant part - then realised again I couldn't because of this update.
In the end I just gave up and didn't bother replying.

I believe you can still highlight part of a post as above. Not as easy as it used to be

Thanks, I saw that in the guide. However it's a right pain and then doesn't say who you are quoting.
To selectively quote a post, you will need to manually copy the text into your reply.
You can create a quote area by selecting ¶, then clicking ❝.
You can split the quote by positioning your cursor where you want the break, then changing the ❝ back to ¶.
This will split the quote into separate sections.0 -

Well, what you did was a partial and unattributed quote. The same as I have done. That is not highlighting part of a post.
The process to do what you did is not simple and does not always function.
Particularly for the nature of this forum, the quoting is not not fit for purpose and not intuitive. The whole editing needs to be intuitive - someone should have realised there were problems when they had to write a multi-page user guide…

I've just tried to reply to part of a post for the first time and agree that it is awful functionality that you can't edit the quote to show what you're replying to.
I just didn't reply in the end as it's rude to jam up someone's thread so they can try to guess what you're talking about
