A bit of a gamble, but it seems to have paid off.

I'd always suggest a specialist paint for this, but SG's appears to be a GRP/resin surface rather than PVC, so should be more successful and reliable regardless.

Also consider the finish you are after, SG - with an obvious woodgrain, I suggest satin might look better than gloss, for example. But, a matter of individual taste.

Anyhoo, cannae wait for the before and afters 😁

As said before, although the main body of the door is said to be GRP, the woodgrain effect film laminated on to it will not be GRP. It is likely to be PVC, but could be something else.

i have used a paint called frenchic alfresco to do composite front door and 3 upv doors

my doors were all white and i painted them black

£25 tin did 2 doors on a hot summers day

its a chalky paint but i like the finish jet black and no brush marks /does not drip /run and very easy for anybody to put on /

    it does need 3 coats

they do a dusky pink albeit they call there paint colours strange names

i have also used a spray company on a composite door that had sun faded on a rental property i own a long way from where i live- it was a mid brown oak and is now silvery grey / charge was £250 in 2022 and perfect finish.

but both options much cheaper than the £900 they charge for a new door
