Just remember the price they are asking is just there for you to offer what you can afford 👍

We have been looking around the last few days and actually eliminated quite a lot of options due to vehicle size and in my wifes case whether its too ugly (lol)

We are now down really to a toyota estima/previa, Mercedes Vito or maybe a Sharan/Alhambra

We've seen a nice 3.0 V6 estima in a know japanese importer so going to find out more info

Its been quite a challenge trying to find the right van for our needs especially with our meagre budget of around £5k ish

Its only for my wife and I and our 2 sometimes 3 dogs, NOT to sleep in, just to go for day trips but we want two seats at the front and 2 seats or bench seat right at the back. In the middle room for our dogs to securely travel and some sort of mini kitchen

We must have looked at 20 'types' so far from large MPV's ( alhambra etc ) to small vans like the caddy maxi but it looks like we may have to ( and I say this regrettably as my wife didnt want one ! ) look at a SWB or even a MWB van

In our budget this leaves really only the Vauxhall Vivaro, Mercedes Vito/Viano and the Hyundai i800… why havent I included the VW Transporter ?.. well they are so expensive the only one available will be something like a T4 with mega miles

Any help on any of these ( unless of course you have better suggestions… )

Agree this thread should be merged with your previous one.

A quick question - all the vans you've mentioned come in MPV versions. Are you thinking of one of these (with seats, windows etc. already present) or are you thinking of a plain panel van and then doing the necessary work yourself?

On that subject, bear in mind that a van will be harder and more expensive to insure than an MPV.

Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

Reasonable but used vans are much cheaper to buy than a similar age and size MPV, but more expensive and restrictive to insure.

If your wish list is for a ready to go van with those requirements it'll be really quite an old one.

I had a long high transit which was great with 2 greyhounds and a lurcher, I've now got a much smaller Expert with two lurchers, sliders on both sides is a definite bonus although makes the internal layout more challenging

Thats really interesting.. Most of the time it will be my smallish labrador and a little cockapoo with occasional trips with my daughters medium rotweiler.. I would love to go for smaller van or an MPV but just finding anyone who understands our needs,,and by that I mean my very poor explaination

We will sit in the front, the dogs in the middle and seats at the very back which will most likely only be used when we stop and have a cuppa. Then we will drive somewhere , stop, get in the back ( or turn the front seats around of course if they were captain seats ! ) get out the mobile stove, open the mini fridge and just enjoy..

I guess the reason for the SWB/MWB vans is that nothing else would probably fit a mini kitchen

I we could find someone who has does this with an MPV or something like a caddy maxi, expert etc I'd be over the moon !
