as someone with multiple duplicate Principality RS accounts AND an absolutely clear conscience, i'm not sure where i'm placed on the weirdness scale.

My take is this - the option to put the maturing RS (or £200 of it) into another similar issue number was offered by Principality, nobody magically made it appear or dreamt up a cheeky fiddle.
I had no idea the first couple of times that only one was allowed so ended up with 3 if you include the original one maturing.
Now we do know its not allowed and/or frowned upon its up to people what they choose to do. But if the option is there you are doing nothing wrong imo, certainly not in the legal sense.
I find Principality great to deal with but this was something they left open to misuse by themselves.

You're just nudging the 'perfectly normal' extreme.

I find it rather funny that, now Principality seem to be clamping down on duplicate accounts, suddenly the rhetoric on here has turned to how people should be ashamed of themselves for committing such heinous crimes against financial institutions. After all, it's not like banks and building societies have been angelic in how they've treated customers in the past. Even now many of them do such kind-hearted things as offering accounts with "bonus" rates in the hope that the customers won't notice when they expire, leaving them earning a fraction of the previous interest.

Nobody is alleging they would.
You made the suggestion this is not a legal issue because there are no laws governing it. Your statement was false, that's all.

With respect, that's not really the argument and past behaviour of the financial sector in general also isn't relevant.
What is relevant is the rules of the forum, and what makes sense for a relationship which most on here would want to keep going. After all, the amount of money one can 'claw back from the man' is surely 0 if they decide to just not accept your custom moving forwards.

Reading this post and a few others on Principality today was uplifting and I'm going at work now for my usual night shift happier for not having followed the advice I was given yesterday from someone on this thread to disable notifications in order to have a peaceful week end without the usual rant on Principality. The simple strategy was quite the opposite. This thread has been great during the years and I really wish will remain filled with great people who consider relevant the simple rules of the forum.

What I have noticed on this fantastic thread is that if something's not for them people are definitely willing to comment against it (rather than leaving the thread and reading others like they might do elsewhere on the forum).
Maybe that's a measure of just how much decent information this thread contains and how we all lean on it (even amongst all the fluff).
Be kind to each other folks, which ever side of the fence you're on, else we might lose those knowledgeable contributers who make this thread so blinking decent with some of these very barbed comments.

Hanley 12 month online.
I’ve been trying to open the Hanley account, but when I get to the phone or email option for secure code…. No reply - either option. Anyone had this problem?

I can't remember having this same issue, but have you tried going via a private browser window (after clearing cache)? Would that help, I wonder…0
