No, but I think rates will come down or stabilise in the long run. Overheated stock markets, debt crisis of many countries, etc.. A large market correction is a bit overdue, sadly, and that will require more money to be pumped into the market so rates will be lowered. Ofc, I hope none of it is happening but it just feels like something is brewing.

I think though that the 12 month clock starts on the date you open the account, not when you make the first deposit. Thus there is no advantage of delaying the first deposit.

I thought I'd reason here that with Santander you could open and fund now then the 1st of july, 1st of August etc

No, it's a month from 1st payment

If my interpretation is correct, you could open now and fund now, but wouldn't be able to fund again until July 25th.
If you open now you could delay funding until 1st July, then fund on the 1st of each month. Which is fine if you prefer doing all your funding on the same day. But it'll still mature on the 25th.

Quite. But @seriously 's account was already opened on the 25th. Waiting to fund on the 1st is going to result in less interest. That's what I was getting at.

You can fund now, 1st July or any other date, but the maximum you can deposit is £200 per account month. For example, you can deposit £100 today and £100 on 1st July. You can deposit £1 daily or not deposit at all. I fully funded the account on the day of opening to take full advantage of 8%. I don't mind making deposits outside the 1st of the month schedule, it's only three - FD, Zopa and Santander - all others work on calendar month basis.

Coventry and HSBC also have RS accounts like that.

True. I forgot about them. Haven't used HSBC and Coventry RSs for a while. They don't have any attractive RS offers at the moment.
