For some things. The apps and telephone support aren't adequate to help out and can be resolved in branch easily so unless everything is changed so that youbget the very best support I can still see a need for branches. Also businesses banking money. Where are they supposed to do that when they close down?

Is it true that Santander can sort out problems in branch that they cannot sort out remotely? I doubt that is true for anyone who does not have a serious accessibility problem. The last time I poked my nose into a branch, they were saying "the counter is closed" and directing people to a computer, ATM or telephone.

Not really a "definitive" list since I've just found that my local branch in Altrincham is among the closures.

Not to worry, there's a wandering minstral which I understand| visits Wilmslow, hardly handy, but for fixed cash ISA's it's not a consideration.

Despite their wooing, I won't be using them for my day to day needs!
