As of a few days ago, with the forum update.

How can I revert this behavior?

Nothing has changed for me with the latest forum update, Google Chrome on Windows 11.

    Just done more digging.

    Go here:

It's those new types of links.

Click one of those - they open in a new window.

This new post still has the 'normal' style link that opens in the same window:

Why there are two types of links now, I do not know.

When i'm creating a post it will automatically create a link hidden behind the title of the webpage (sometimes it doesn't work for whatever reason though). However while you're making the post, if you click on the link it will come up with four icons, I press the icon on the far left and it converts it into a text link. I'd be interested to hear how @Comping_Rich did his.

It is annoying that these new styles of links open in a new window.

It means there is now a mixture of types (same window and new window).

I would prefer the option to make all links on this forum, no matter the type, open in the same window, as it was pre the update.

All the links in that earlier post open in the same window for me. FF/W10
