You may or may not find something by looking at this thread on The Silver Forum (it is about gold don't worry). I hope it is OK to post the link? You will have to battle through posts lamenting the increasing price of gold or the speed with which perceived "deals" get sold out to do so

You will probably get nagged to join it but you don't have to

There is no such thing as a gold bargain, any more than there is a ten or twenty pound note bargain

It is true that gold is very compact and easily hidden
But I disagree that you should tell anybody where it is
What's the first rule of Gold Club?
The same as Fight Club0 -
How long were you an unsuccessful burglar for? 😉

If you "don't understand what the issue is with security" then maybe you need to think a lot harder.
Having met many burglars during my working life I can tell you that they know of all the places that you are convinced they'd never look.
Just because you got lucky once when you were burgled doesn't mean you'll get lucky every time.

There was an implication that the gold coins would be useful in the scenario where people's digital assets were "disappeared". In that scenario, the use case would be in bartering, and one would likely be on their own when it came to ensuring gold on their person remained on their person until they had successfully concluded their trade.

Maybe they'd need to diversify their metal acquisitions by buying some steel and lead as well (ie guns and ammo).😀

I don't think Enzo was claiming to be a burglar, but surely a burglar would think on their feet while actually inside your flat, or even potentially enlist your help if you happened to be there (where the advice would be not to put your personal safety at risk by resisting).
As a quick reminder, we are not allowed to share personal information via this forum. Though arguably, identifying suitable targets is part of the skill set. I'm amazed by the ingenuity of sufficiently motivated people to overcome such challenges.
One must also consider that even if the hiding place is not compromised, thousands in property damage could be caused in the search.
Which is why the first rule is so important.
