Boiler Juice.
Hi,any advice on the following??..thanks in advance.
NNew years eve,2025,I dip tested the heating oil tank. Its a 1000l tank, tall and thin. There was just under half, about 4-450l.This is my normal re order point. On the 4th I ordered via Boiler juice.Onbthe 5th I recieved a "delivery".I saw the lorry, and the driver.A week later I dipped the tank.Aprox 300l.That can't be right I thought,it should be 800l.Checked for leaks.Checked the bund.Nothing.Contacted boiler juice, they contacted Bedford fuels, they both agreed it must've been stolen.Heres the thing,I live in a village with almost zero crime.Neighbours see everything. No one saw anything other than the delivery. For there to be 300l left on the 12th Jan My tank would have to have been completely at zero on the 5th and then I would have had to use 200l in a week. Not possible. But The drop from the NYE reading to the 12th Jan is pretty consistent with normal use.So if it was stolen, why only steal the same quantity as the delivery?why wouldn't they empty the tank?I don't believe the driver put oil in my tank. The heating didn't go down, had the tank emptied it would have, and would have needed bleeding. The tank was locked also after delivery.Im so confused but genuinely don't see why a thief would unlock then re-lock the tank and only steal what appears to be the same amount as was delivered. No one is interested at Boiler juice and have said matter closed. And I'm down nearly 300 quid and will need another order.Any advice?.Thankyou...I've been on oil for 24yrears and never had an issue till now

Did you get a receipt for the delivery when they delivered the oil, if it was locked how did they open it, they would need a truck to steal 300l, do the neighbours have doorbell cameras. If they do you can prove that it has not been stolen but not delivered
Maybe have a CCTV camera for future,

As per @Markdavid1962 comments, did you get a time stamped delivery receipt when delivered?
If not, I would contact BoilerJuice and Bedford Fuels and ask them to provide it.
Every time I have had oil delivered (from a number of different suppliers) the onboard metering systems on the trucks have printed a two part document, with the top copy being kept by the driver and the carbon copy being handed to me or shoved through the letterbox.
From your description it would seem almost certain that no oil was delivered.
You say you saw the lorry and the driver. Did he appear to run out the delivery hose and fill the tank? It's a real shame you didn't dip it immediately after the delivery. I always do at the same time I add additive to the tank.0
